Embedded System Engineer

Apply for the team

Role Description

In this role, you will assist our team in the development of wearable technology to measure biometrics of fencers. We intend to use ultra-wide band sensors to enable a local positioning system. As a stretch goal, we hope to be able to use a suite of biometric sensors to evaluate mental stress and physical exertion.

Project Summary

This project, under the guidance of former Olympic Fencers and Texas Athletics sports scientists, is working on creating wearable devices that coaches can use to track the performance of competitive fencers and analyze bouts. Our solution seeks to leverage computer vision to produce detailed bout summaries for coaches to use when producing game plans and training routines. Additionally, we hope to create a wearable device that can track athlete's biometrics and movements throughout the tournament to provide quantitative data that can be used to inform strength and conditioning.
